Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz is the largest district, stretching from the middle of the island to the rugged east coast and the Arikok national park. It is rural and quiet, with generous plots, the island's best-value larger houses and the sunrise side of Aruba.
What to know
Living in Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz covers the centre-east of the island: the village of Santa Cruz itself, Macuarima, Balashi, and the long approach to Arikok national park, which takes up a fifth of Aruba. The east coast here is cliffs and surf, not swimming beaches.
Plots are larger than anywhere else and houses tend to be family-sized. It is the district for someone who wants space and quiet and does not mind a twenty-minute drive to Eagle Beach. Prices are among the lowest on the island for what you get.
